Today I return to the woods to talk about stuff that's on my mind. Mostly what's on my mind at the beginning is my utter frustration at not being able to get either of my cameras to work with my laptop.
You see, I was planning on creating a video episode consisting of me shelling acorns in preparation for turning them into flour.
But none of my video equipment cooperated; I couldn't find the quarter-inch screw adapter to attach either camera to my favorite tripod, nor could I get the cameras connected to my laptop via USB.
I downloaded drivers, driver installers, firmware updaters; nothing worked.
My family saw my unsettled state, and urged me to take a break. And then return to what I knew: audio.
So this episode is me settling for audio.
But then I starting thinking about settling. And about how it's the opposite of unsettling.
And that's when things started getting philosophical (and philological).
If you enjoy walking with me while I work things out in my mind, I'd love your (virtual) company on this walk.
And if you have thoughts or comments or any kind of feedback, please share.
