Olas Protocol: Blockchain Can Bring Trust Back To Journalism (And Make Money For Writers) - Ciaran Murray, CEO

This week we speak with Ciaran Murray about media and journalism, why it's broken and how web3 and blockchain technology to bring truth and trust back to your news feed.

Ciaran is a seasoned veteran of the blockchain industry, advising on numerous web3 projects and releasing a synthetics assets proof-of-concept last year. Ciarán previously worked in the media industry for British Sky Broadcasting. As such, he is well placed to understand the issues facing the media industry and how to apply blockchain and other distributed technologies to remedy them.

He is now the CEO of Olas Protocol. The Olas Foundation’s protocol seeks to harness the power of blockchain technology to make all non-private information freely available and to drive positive change in the media landscape.

Olas tackles the economic precarity facing media with the introduction of novel funding mechanisms and tackles the dissemination of disinformation through open but collusion-resistant review protocols, providing a viable alternative to traditional media.
