Sri Chakra is called the Yantra Raj, meaning it is the most supreme yantra out of all the yantras. There is manta, there is yantra, there is tantra and there is pratima. The mantra is the vachik (vocal) swaroop (image) of the devata. The pratima or the vigaraha is for meditating. But if that mantra can be made visible in the form of an energy then how would it look. That is the yantra.
The yantra in the Sri Chakra is like an auditorium, like a parliament house where there is a place for the speaker and others. Similarly all the energies are called upon and seated at different places in the Sri yantra.
