Everyone has experienced both happiness and suffering in life. Some of us believe that everything happening to us is our destiny, and there is little we can do about it. Whereas, others believe in free will. So which is it? If it is destiny, will consulting astrologers about the future better prepare us for adversity? If not, what can we do to better ride the motions of life?
To help us answer some of these questions, Om Swami narrates an incident from the life of two saints, Goswami Tulsidas* and Baba Keenaram in this video. Peppered with humor, anecdotes, and wisdom, he shares with us his views on free will, destiny, and faith, and if we should believe in the stars or ourselves.
Pearls of Wisdom to take away from this talk:
1. Believe in your own hard work instead of looking for signs in the stars
2. Learn to take responsibility for your actions in life
3. Life will have its ups and downs, be more accepting of them to reduce your suffering
* Goswami Tulsidas is considered to be one of the greatest poets-saints of India and the author of the epic Ramcharitmanas (Lake of the deeds of Rama).

"When it comes to destiny, I can tell you one thing though: if you have something to offer to the world, a skill, some talent, a gift etc., Nature will take the work from you. Each one of us is inherently propelled to realize our full potential." --- https://os.me/destiny-free-will/
