Hi everyone!
This episode I talk to Iain Meadows who is a multi-award winning sound designer and audio editor. His series HOOD, which reimagined the legend of Robin Hood was a huge critical success, winning multiple gongs at The BBC Audio Awards and New York Radio Festival. Not only working on the technical side of things he also wrote a lot of the series and is a firm believer in silencing the naysayers and doing it yourself.
We talk about:
What sound designers and audio editors do.
University, demo tapes and getting into radio.
His work both on air and behind the scenes.
His decision to move into audio drama and his journey to get out there and make it himself.
Asking big stars such as Lee Ingleby to be in your productions.
What it’s like working for Big Finish on their stellar franchises like Dr Who.
How due to modern media you can get your productions directly to your audiences.
Apologies for any of the slight sound issues, due to Covid 19, this was recorded over Zoom.
Thanks as always for the questions we received through the socials, this time from Gloria Sanders, Rhona Foulis, Dan Kriss and Deb Mitra.
