Hi everyone!
This episode I talk to Lia Buddle who is the Artistic Assistant for The English National Ballet. Prior to The ENB, Lia worked in both subsidised and commercial theatre, here in London and also on Broadway. She’s been involved with amazing venues like The Warwick and Battersea Arts Centres as well musical monoliths such as Wicked and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.
We talk about:
School, Warwick Uni and joining the industry.
Her time in subsidised theatre.
Working in the West End on Wicked as well as on Broadway.
How much of a role does tourism have in programming in the West End and Broadway.
Joining The English National Ballet and what it’s like working at such an exciting, large touring company.
The importance of administrative roles in the arts.
What’s coming up for Lia and The ENB.
Apologies for any of the slight sound issues, due to Covid 19, this was recorded over Zoom.
Thanks as always for the questions we received through the socials, this time from Franca Vinnicombe, Russ Hope and Amanda Band.
