Hi everyone!
This episode I talk to legendary movement director and choreographer Lucy Cullingford. Lucy is at the top of her game and regularly works for The RSC and The National Theatre. Lucy was working on a show at The National Theatre, getting up to the dress rehearsal before they had to close the place down due to Covid 19!
There’s loads of really good and detailed information about this part of the industry. Amongst other things, we talk about:
What movement directing is.
Lucy’s journey into movement directing.
Working with John Godber.
Lucy’s process as a movement director during a production.
What it’s like working at The RSC.
Managing the rehearsal room with big stars such as Ian McKellen, Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Wilson.
Apologies for any of the slight sound issues, due to Covid 19, this was recorded over Zoom.
Thanks as always for the questions we received through the socials from George R-Scott, Mark Vinnicombe, Adrienne Rashbrook and Howard Otley.
