Peggy Brusseau has cast a spell of peacefulness, calmness, joy, connection, and well, contentedness in her cookbook The Contented Vegan.
A Minnesotan transplant to London, Brusseau radiates acceptance, curiosity, integrity, and clear-headedness.
She's a vegan without anger.
A climate activist who doesn't shame.
And she spreads the gospel of reconnecting with our food, our plant allies, and own tastes and discernments.
After moving to the UK, Brusseau accidentally rescued a pregnant cow when she was running a small farm in the UK. After that experience, Brusseau decided that her agricultural career couldn't include animal husbandry, and she stopped eating all animal products.
Now a more than 30-year vegan, Brusseau shares her philosophies, tactics, and recipes with the world. From broccoli, almond flakes, and allspice; to cooked fennel and pepper salad: the dishes are exquisite, the photos are mouthwatering, and the overall vibe is one of love and kindness.
