Dublin MEP Frances Fitzgerald accused the Polish government of discarding the rule of law and human rights during a heated debate in the European Parliament this morning.
MEPs discussed a recent ruling by Poland’s constitutional tribunal which found that EU laws were incompatible with its own national constitution.
During the debate in Strasbourg, the Prime Minister of Poland (Mateusz Morawiecki) defended the ruling and accused the EU of applying double standards against his country.
Frances Fitzgerald launched a blistering attack on the Polish government.
