Episode 8 John Mullen: Almost Paralyzed In China To A New Start In The UK.

In this episode, I chat with my good friend John Mullen from Liverpool. John has an incredible story, one that is very humbling. After graduating from University, he decided to go experience living in China. While there, he got sick, really really sick to the point of almost becoming paralyzed. All of a sudden, Multiple Sclerosis hit him. No warnings, no pre-existing conditions. No family history. Nothing, totally out of the blue. John shares with us all the details of that incredibly scary episode, even pivotal moment of his life.

Through the help and support of his friends on the ground, he was able to leave China, which by itself, was quite a journey full of hurdles. But he finally made it back home to the UK where he was told that his situation is a rare and unique case with no known cures. He was told there might be a shot with a new treatment, which is unproven but could have a 20% chance of working. It was either that or being paralyzed for the rest of his life, a rather short life at that. He opted to go for it and that miraculously, has worked and he's fully recovered!

Now, looking forward, John sees that as a gift, an incredible opportunity to share his experience, and guide those who are suffering with and dealing with Multiple Sclerosis. He mentioned that he wished there was someone he could talk to while he was going through that ordeal himself. He wants to build a community where he provides guidance, hope and strength to those battling that disease.
