E105// Help! My husband won’t change - how to win him over without manipulating him

You may not be able to change your husband but you can influence him!!!!

Here are a few ways you can influence your husband WITHOUT manipulating him!

 

1 - with your actions. 

• Model the behavior you want
• Listen without interruption (help him to feel seen and heard)
• Act with integrity - do what you say you will do

2- Your silence 

• Don't criticize. “If you want to gather honey” don’t kick over the beehive!" -Dale Carnegie 
• Criticizing people causes them to become defensive and rationalize their actions. 
• There are other ways to get your point across

3- Your affections 

• Show him the kindness of Christ. This is not about manipulating him with sex but rather showing true kindness to him even when he doesn't deserve it

In essence, you can influence your husband by the level of grace you show him. Grace is unmerited kindness (courteous goodwill) how much can you show him today?
