S8: Episode 1 - Brittany Cooley | Overcoming Tragedy of a loved one with Mental Illness and more to Triumph
Brittany Cooley, is a free-spirited, over-sharer, who is hellbent on sharing her message of strength and hope across the globe. She has dedicated her life to being one of the powerful faces of mental health awareness and suicide prevention after her own serious suicide attempt in 2012. Brittany’s suicide attempt was the climax of a decade of trauma including homelessness, hunger, sexual abuse, and loss in her youth. Today, Brittany shares her story of tragedy to triumph as a powerful example of using the struggles she has faced to strengthen her tenacious spirit.
Brittany graduated from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania with her Bachelors degree in Social Work in 2011. She has worked in Adult Behavioral Health since. Now she works as an MST Therapist working with adolescence and their families helping them create better environments to all thrive in.
Since her last publication she has become a mother to a beautiful little girl Bria which was born in 2020 during the pandemic. Brittany relays that Bria saved her from returning to rock bottoms basement floor time and time again in her short lifetime. “Bria is my light and joy. Bria is truly my very own Strength Personified.”

Brittany embraces her struggles and imperfections and uses them as her superpowers to help others feel less alone. She believes that her pain is to be used as lessons and loves the growth she experiences during hardship. She shares more than most people would ever dream of but that’s what people love the most. She’s relatable, hardworking, authentic and proud to be who she is.
Brittany’s second book is set to release October 31, 2022 which is the second installment of the Strength Personified Collection. “A Personal Story of Heartache to Healing.” She shares that this may be even more personal than her first book, detailing how she has healed from trauma since 2012 and felt a lifetime's worth of disappointment and heartache in order to do so.
