IT’S NOT ABOUT WINNING... you have already won!

Luke 19: 11-27

The parable of the landowner and him handing out the talents… one got ten one got five and one got 1…. if you remember correctly he awards each one according to how well they invested the talent.. and he gives them cities to rule over… but the last one does nothing… he just stuck it in his pocket… and the master is ticked off, and he calls the servant wicked- takes his talent, gives it to the guy who turned his into 10 and has the wicked servant was slain…

 

How many times I have read this, but one thing struck me yesterday… at the beginning of this parable the Master tells them to occupy until he comes back…

They doesn’t just mean sit at home, nor does it mean stay busy… it means to own… to take ownership of your talent and my mission at hand. The master says i have given you the ability and you have been told the mission, now go own it… make it happen.

 

When the Israelites are called to take Canaan the promise land… god says I will give you this land. Go and conquer it… but the idea is God delivers the land and their enemies to Israel… they must simply occupy the land.

it’s like this… go move into the house and I will drive out the mice… but you gotta occupy it first. 

 

We are not called to conquer we are called to occupy. There’s a difference in mentality. We are more than conquerors that has already been taken care of. We are to know claim victory, and occupy!

If I am more than a conquer then I have already won, so my job is to occupy…

I want to say “live as if you have won… but the truth is LIVE THE WAY YOU LIVE BECAUSE YOU DID WIN!
