Det Forenede Dampskibs-Selskab (DFDS)’s emigrantskib ’ S/S Norge  - ligger i 1904 til kaj i Københavns Frihavn. Den afventer 405 passagerer – senere skal den samle flere op i Kristiania (nutidens Oslo).  Den endelig destination er mulighedernes land -USA.

Tirsdag den 28. juni 1904 støder 'Norge' på grund i det kolde hav ud for Skotland.

Ombord er 68 besætningsmedlemmer og 727 passagerer – de fleste af dem emigranter. 635 mennesker mister livet - 160 mennesker overlever.
