4 - "For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:"
5 - "So, we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another."
6 -"Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;"
7 - "Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;"
8 - "Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness."
Acts 4:4"And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common."
Acts 9:1-6 Paul's Conversion
1 - "And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,"
2 - "And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem."
3 - "And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:"
4 - "And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him. Saul, Saul why persecutest thou me?"
5 - "And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks."
6 - "And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do."
After Paul's conversion, the disciples did not believe it at first, they were afraid of him.
26 - "And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he attempted to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple."
Barnabas was first to reach out to Paul.
27 - "But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus."
Barnabas made an effort to get to know Paul and learn about Paul's dramatic change of heart.
Barnabas accompanied Paul to meet the apostles.
After leading someone to the Lord, its important to mentor them.
Acts 11:23-24
23 - "Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord."
24- "For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord."
Barnabas saw the potential in Paul.
Acts 13:43
43 -"Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God."
46 - "Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles."
A good mentor will encourage you when you are down.
