Our Advocate

Scripture: 1 John 2:1 – "My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One."

In life, we sometimes feel weighed down by mistakes, regrets, or guilt. But the beauty of the Gospel is this: we are not left to defend ourselves. Jesus stands as our Advocate—pleading on our behalf, not based on our righteousness, but His own perfect sacrifice.

Think about Peter (Luke 22:31-32). Even though Peter denied Jesus three times, Jesus prayed for him before it ever happened. Jesus didn’t reject Peter afterward; instead, He restored him and gave him purpose.

When we fall, we have a Savior who stands in the gap for us. Our failures do not define us—His advocacy does. As we raise our families, lead others, or walk our personal journeys, we must remember: we are defended, forgiven, and deeply loved.
