Notes
Holy Spirit had Paul to address cultural differences between Jewish Christians and non-Jewish Christians in Rome. Jewish Christians who desired to observe Jewish dietary laws and the Sabbath clashed with non-Jewish Christians. Paul intervenes with a plea of acceptance on both groups of Christians. He categorized the Jewish Christians as “weak in the faith” because of their intolerance of Gentile Christians who ate meat offered to idols. Gentile Christians on the other hand were categorized as “strong in the faith” because they ate meat offered to idols and drink wine. However, they did so with a conceited spirit towards the Jewish Christians. Such observes and the lack thereof has no bearing on salvation given by LORD Jesus.
