Richard Kincaid on Launching a Living Garden Walls Company

Ep #147 - My guest today, Richard Kincaid, is the founder and CEO of Sagegreenlife, a design and manufacturing company specializing in living garden walls. As a strategic leader with a background in real estate, Kincaid drives the firm's mission of bringing a sense of well-being, purpose, and beauty to commercial and residential spaces across the globe.

Mr. Kincaid has held three C-level positions at Equity Office – CFO, COO and CEO. During his tenure as CEO, he substantially restructured the company’s portfolio. The company sold $8 billion, or 60 million square feet, of office space, purchased $3 billion in office assets within supply-constrained markets, and purchased $3 billion in the company’s stock at an average price of $30.50. By the time the company was sold to the Blackstone Group for total consideration of $39 billion ($55.50 per share), the portfolio’s geographic concentration had gone from 55% in coastal markets to 90% in coastal markets. The company’s total return during Mr. Kincaid’s tenure as CEO was over 36% compounded annually.

Sagegreenlife has gone on to land major contracts with enterprise companies like Apple and continues to grow and expand.
