Title: Enhancing the SHAPE K-12 standards: Feedback from PETE Faculty
Overview: During this session, 10-12 pre-selected PETE faculty will discuss the strengths and opportunities for growth within the SHAPE America K-12 physical education standards. The selected faculty presenters represent diverse perspectives and expertise in the PETE community in areas such as social justice, culturally responsive pedagogy, models based practice, LGBTQ , ableism, physical literacy, and elementary and secondary PE. The purpose and intent of this discussion is to examine the standards constructively, with the hopes of providing meaningful feedback to SHAPE America that can be used to update and revise the standards in the future. Participants who are interested will be invited to stay at the end of the collaborative to continue the conversation more informally.
