In episode 99, I speak with my friend Ron. He works in health care technology, but is a dedicated athlete. More recently he ran multiple marathons to raise money to support the frontline HealthCare workers during the early stages of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Following that he ran 60 miles on his birthday, in the freezing cold streets of NYC to help raise money to support ultra-runner Tommy Rivers Puzey after a rare cancer diagnosis. The money went towards supporting his family and helping with medical bills.
Ron ran 2.41 at the Boston marathon before we had fancy shoes and nutrition, he is an inspiration to me, and a force of nature in a good way!
We explore where this drive comes from, and how pivotal his mother is in his life.
Whilst we are both six star world marathon major finishers, he was one of seven runners, to run all six marathon majors in 2019 (avg 3:15 at age 58) he is on Instagram and has a podcast (Runchats with Ron) which I’d recommend you listen to.
