Business owners - you’re not going to like this - but 37% of employees admit to binge watching Netflix at work. And that was BEFORE we all started working from home in our underwear.
And now that we’re in a business video world, and 70% of ALL subscribers admitting to binge watching Netflix (#TigerKing), there are a lot of important lessons companies can learn from studying their business model.
So, let's rewind. In the beginning, Netflix was just Blockbuster without the brick and mortar. It wasn’t on-demand yet. We didn’t have the bandwidth, they weren’t producing their own shows, and they weren’t using a personalization algorithm to keep you glued to the screen.
All of that came later, after they responded to key market trends. Netflix didn’t create the world we live in, but they have shown business leaders how to dominate in the world we are living in today!
What we’ve learned from Netflix is that one size fits all information doesn’t serve our customers - it needs to be personalized and relevant. Information needs to be available 24/7 and it needs to be friggin’ BINGE-WORTHY man!
In this episode of Video Marketing Mastery, I talk about how today’s buyers now expect businesses to provide an effortless, on-demand buying experience that’s personalized to their needs. I discuss how Netflix has set the standard for hooking their customers attention and keeping it. Smart companies can take the example of what Netflix did to pivot their business and create an amazing buying experience...and I’m going to tell you how.
And you can just wing-it! Like a great Netflix series, if you want your prospect to go all the way through your binge-worthy buying experience, you have to lay out a smart strategy from the beginning. So let’s get to it!
