This year’s Black Friday and Small Business Saturday will look a little different. Sales began running weeks in advance, encouraging shoppers to make their purchases ahead of the big weekend. Scott Shalley, President/CEO of the Florida Retail Federation says his 3,000+ retailers have been preparing months in advance for the holiday madness.
In this week’s episode of the Tallahassee Business Podcast presented by The Health Network, Scott shares some insight into how his retailers are getting creative to combat supply chain issues and staffing shortages. He says although many consumers have turned to the web during the pandemic, 80% of purchases are still being made in brick and mortar.
