The creator of a new sculpture of the late SDLP leader and Nobel Laureate John Hume, says it’s a huge honour to have the bronze bust permanently displayed in the European Parliament.
Irish sculptor and artist Liz O’Kane was originally commissioned by the Irish Ambassador to the US to create the sculpture for the Ambassador’s residence in Washington. Three other bronze replicas were subsequently commissioned by the Department of Foreign Affairs.
And one of those will be permanently on display in the European Parliament from today. Here’s Liz O’Kane.
