The Keep It Local Maine Podcast
Business
In this episode, we had the chance to speak with Ellen and Amanda from Woodfords Family Services. With May being National Foster Care Month, we talked about what Woodfords does to help support foster parents and foster children, the different types of foster care, how to learn more about becoming a foster parent, and much more!
ABOUT OUR GUESTS:
Woodfords Family Services is a nonprofit organization that has served the greater Portland and larger Maine community for 55 years. Founded by five families who wanted better educational opportunities for their children with special needs, Woodfords has stayed true to its roots, while growing to provide thousands of individuals and their families with compassionate support throughout their lives. Woodfords offers a variety of clinical, educational, family support, residential, and training programs to individuals with special needs. One signature program, and especially important this month, is Woodfords’ Therapeutic Foster Care program, which trains foster parents and places children in foster care with loving and safe families. Every child deserves a safe and loving home, and Woodfords is committed to helping all children find their way in this world with love and support.
