April 19th & 20th will mark the first event of the SHURE Initiative hosted by CAPRE and Brian Klebash. Short for Student Housing and University Real Estate, the SHURE Initiative has a mission to "improve student lives and enhance the built environment in university neighborhoods." This first event will be focused on universities in Canada and will be held on the campus of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
In this episode, Wes sits down with Brian to discuss the SHURE Initiative and what is on tap for the conference. Additionally, Mike Porritt of The Scion Group and UBC's AVP of Student Housing and Community Services, Andrew Parr, join the conversation to provide an overview of the housing and real estate challenges facing Canadian universities and why there is such a need for partnerships with the private sector.
