Capture The Chaos - Grow Your Newborn and Family Photography Business

Today we welcome Kristen from Gracefully Nested to talk to us about decluttering! This conversation is packed with helpful tips so that your decluttering sessions can be efficient and long-lasting!
Tried and True Best Practices:
Decluttering is the most important thing when it comes to getting organized because you can't organize all the things until you get rid of the excess things.
It just takes baby steps.
Thinning your life is huge. It helps the day go more smoothly.
The truth about extra things, even if you think they aren't bothering you, is that they can trigger you by making you feel overwhelmed.
Decluttering doesn't just happen once. Kristen declutters her home about 6 times a year.
You don't need to save, as a mom, every drawing your kid ever presents you. Give yourself permission to let lots of it go.
Having a drop zone for your shoes and things that you need multiple times a day is huge.
Decluttering will save you time because you're not looking through the drawer of 10 spatulas for the one you actually like.
Try not to let your garage be the place where things go to die.
Don't let returns become clutter. Get your money back!
If your pantry is organized, you will save time and money by not buying groceries you already have.
The first step to decluttering: you need to take everything out and group it.
Measure the spaces where you're trying to organize so you can buy bins and shelves that actually fit in the space.
Label your bins and baskets.
When you have less stuff to clean, you'll have more time because you're cleaning less.
Never look at the whole room because you'll shut down and leave. Instead, take a basket and dump it out on the ground. Take out everything you don't need and get rid of those things. If you find something that belongs somewhere else, don't go and try to organize that problem area. Just put it in that room and make a plan to work on that room another day.
