Ex-Veganism to Finally Thriving Through Traditional Foods & Faith with Daniella Nicole

Join Mary today as she chats with her second guest and close friend on the show, Daniella Nicole Edkins. Dani from @nourishwithdani is a Nutritional Therapist Practitioner and Certified Health Coach from London who supports women all over the world to get back to a healthier, happier place through uncovering their own unique health history. She’s passionate about nutrition optimisation, gut-health, anti-stress habits and helping you create an environment for your body to heal itself.
At only 21 years young and just starting to kick-start her career in London, Dani became chronically ill with digestive issues, particularly "Achalasia", a rare oesophageal disorder. She couldn’t eat or swallow, was starting to "waste away", and suffered from major health anxiety. After searching for a cure, she was devastated to be told by Doctor's that all she could do was "take some pills and maybe get an operation". This was hard to fathom and after not getting the results she wanted, she went out to find answers herself.
Dani decided she would try veganism, and transitioned overnight after watching testimonials on YouTube from others who had healed their health issues with this lifestyle. She needed the drastic change to get out of her situation and like felt veganism was the answer as it gave her hope, which she knew was critical in these dire straits.
After moving countries and starting a new career, Dani soon noticed that her health was suffering and was no long thriving on a vegan diet despite doing "everything right" and taking "all the supplements". She also fell into a dark place with her "new-age spirituality" practices that she was doing in order to "heal".
It wasn't until finding God again and reconnecting with her Christian faith that she finally could start to heal, truly. Dani could let go of the guilt and shame she felt and started to learn more about nutrition, eating more in a traditional and ancestral way, and all in God's design.
She now sees food so differently, and is more connected to herself and nature. Dani ends the episode with her best nutrition tip! Be sure to listen in on this one, whether you're vegan or not, or whether you have been wanting to transition away from veganism, this is for you!
