This guided meditation encourages embracing all emotions—both joyful and painful—with curiosity, compassion, and without judgment, as a path to healing and self-discovery. It emphasizes that our capacity to feel is a powerful inner resource, enabling deeper experiences of love, empathy, and joy. By consciously allowing ourselves to feel, especially joy, we activate positive energy within and around us.
Empower Yourself
and allow yourself to feel joy.
For some of us it’s easy
and for some it’s not,
and don’t worry, it really doesn’t matter.
Feel your body as you bring curiosity to yourself
around feeling joy.
Breathe, slow down, relax
without trying to understand anything,
analyze or scrutinize yourself.
Just feel.
Just feel your body and whatever
is happening in this moment.
Breathe, pause, relax.
We are all learning to feel more and as we do,
we open a treasure trove within us.
Since it’s not very familiar,
it may not be very comfortable sometimes,
but this is where all the most delicious, glorious,
and precious treasures are found.
All the things every person wants
is for the ultimate purpose of feeling good,
feeling happy, feeling loved, feeling appreciated,
feeling content, feeling fulfilled, feeling useful,
feeling good about ourselves, and so on.
And sometimes we want not to feel something,
not to feel guilty, not to feel hurt,
not to feel angry, and so on.
Truly, it’s all about feeling.
We have all had so many intense, upsetting feelings,
painful feelings, and many feelings we have not been encouraged
to feel, or express, or even be curious about.
We all feel anger, resentment, guilt, fear,
and even hatred at times.
Mostly we are not encouraged to feel these things.
Mostly we try to shut them down, and even dissociate.
We have been told to show a good face.
We learn to not allow ourselves to feel these things,
or we try to avoid them.
Unfortunately, in doing so, we usually shut down
a great deal of our ability to feel,
or at least, push it as far away as possible.
And in some ways, our very ability to feel
has withered and shriveled,
like a limb wrapped in a cast.
And in other ways, all that denial and avoidance
has created great pressure, like a pressure cooker,
with some feelings being a bit explosive coming out of the cage.
It’s okay.
It’s important to allow ourselves to feel all our feelings
with curiosity, kindness, and compassion towards ourselves.
With a little courage and determination, it becomes
a truly magnificent exploration of self-discovery.
Our capacity to feel includes all our feelings,
like the whole keyboard on a piano,
and every note has beauty in it.
As we venture into this mostly unexplored area
of vast potential within ourselves, our emotional body,
and our ability to feel, we are giving ourselves,
and everyone around us, a great service.
We are awakening a magnificent potential within us
for the most exalted experiences for ourselves,
each other, and all of humanity.
Our ability to feel holds the greatest power.
It’s a superpower.
Wherein lies our ability to feel compassion,
our ability to feel forgiveness,
our ability to feel empathy,
our ability to feel gratitude,
our ability to feel courage,
to feel stillness and silence,
to feel peace, to feel joy and happiness,
and our ability to feel love.
And as we activate each of these vibrations, for so much healing,
we are just beginning to learn how.
It’s all already here within us.
Take a moment to consider one thing you feel joyful about right now.
Notice how it feels in your body,
and how it feels in your heart.
Allow and empower yourself to focus
on the feelings and vibrations of joy.
Breathe into it, relax into it.
As you feel for joy, the more joy you will feel,
and the more you will activate ripples
of positive high frequency vibrations
through you and around you.
It’s as simple as that.
