SHOW HIGHLIGHTS:
00 - Tim recently visited his son in NYC and had the world’s best tacos but almost ditched them for some Korean fried chicken.
00 - Vacations with family and friends are stressful! So much food…
00 - All across the US right now are staffing issues. Businesses are in desperate need of staff. Airports are a mess and Tim gives us some of his recent travel woes due to lack of staffing.
00 - Another issue facing the world right now is shortage of cars. Due to some chip shortages, there is a lack of cars which includes a shortage of rental cars. Tim couldn’t get a rental car even weeks ahead.
30 - Recently KD and Tim stayed at the same hotel and were checked-in at an automated system. They did have some employees that were helping out with the process but it was a little bit of a waste.
30 - Revenge travel is real but it’s requiring extra patience right now due to all of the shortage issues.
00 - Colorado has a new state law that requires all companies to disclose salary ranges for all roles being hired (even remote ones). Companies are getting around this law by saying “this position will be filled outside the state of Colorado”.
30 - KD mentions that President Obama once said “elections have consequences”. He relates that to this Colorado law and the movie Blazing Saddles.
00 - JLee mentions that many ATS’s are not set up to display location to jobseekers. She also notes that a lot of big companies are including this language in Colorado but also have confusing language on the actual location of the job.
00 - KD thinks it’s fascinating how states are taking a stand to make hiring more equitable but many brands are taking a stance against them. Many of these brands will stand up for other social causes but not for this one.
