Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the primary cause of death worldwide, cutting short an estimated 17.9 million lives annually, according to the World Health Organization. Approximately four out of five of those deaths is attributed to heart attack and stroke.
A growing body of evidence indicates that the underlying cause of most CVD is endothelial dysfunction caused by damage to the endothelial lining of the coronary arteries.
In this episode of Optimal – The Podcast, we’re diving into the underlying cause and contributor of most cardiovascular diseases: endothelial dysfunction.
Join Dr. Dicken and Beth Ellen DiLugio in this episode as they talk about the assessment and treatment of endothelial dysfunction and its role in cardiovascular diseases, and how to prevent endothelial dysfunction!
