n this podcast, Dr Sandra Cabot talks about the liver and manufacturing. The liver is definitely the metabolic furnace of your body and manufactures many things and this includes essential proteins, such as albumin, and globulin proteins, such as sex hormone-binding globulins, immunoglobulins, fibronectins and C-reactive proteins. The liver also manufactures hormones, in particular one called insulin-like growth factor, also known as somatomedin. Also the hormones angiotensinogen, thrombopoietin and hepcidin. The liver also breaks down sex hormones regulates the thyroid hormone metabolism, controlling your weight.
