Welcome! and Thank you for listening. Did you take in too much food this weekend and not enough exercise? That is the norm for this time of year. It is not too late to get things back under control. The holiday season is a time of over eating and under exercising. With the average American taking in 4000 calories on Thanksgiving day followed by excessive intake on the days that follow, it could take 7-10 days to work those excess calories off. That would translate into running about 6 miles a day for the next week while decreasing daily intake down to pre holiday levels. Let's face it, cutting back a little is not going to cut it.
Studies discussed on this episode: How much exercise is too much? Are there quick fixes for knee pain and torn hamstrings? Should you add pomegranates to your diet? When do people realize they are overweight? Are our current weight loss stratagies effective?
