When Sharon Linder saw a need gap, she left a 32-year career at IBM to jump into the world of entrepreneurship and fill it. After her mother and sisters survived breast cancer, Linder became more diligent about her own exams. It was in the waiting room where she saw the need gap. “The skinny girls were freezing in their little gowns and the big girls were basically falling out of their bigger gowns,” she tells CoveyClub founder Lesley Jane Seymour. “I thought, ‘there has to be a better way.’” As a result, she created Get Janes, a collection of dignified and comfortable hospital gowns designed for women and men in inclusive sizes and styles. In this detailed conversation Linder shares the exact process she went through, from exploring the manufacturing necessities of hospital gowns to getting funding for her business. Listen in to get Linder’s best advice for taking action on your own entrepreneurial journey.
