Jami Dulaney MD Plant Based Wellness Podcast Episode 123 with Timeree Hagenburger, RD
Welcome and thanks for tuning in. Today I am joined by The Nutrition Professor, Timaree Hagenburger for another in our series: Picky eaters. The fact of the matter is our taste buds change so what we may have disliked as a child is not set in taste bud stone. In fact it may just be the memories of how it was prepared and the environment you were in at the time. Was dinner a stressful time when a particular dish was served. The tone of the evening can turn if the cook is insulted by her picky eaters or perhaps something was under or overcooked. Our perception of texture can also change over time. Timaree offers some great suggestions. A few of her quotes: "I don't believe I have had that prepared in a way I like yet". By leaving open the possibilities we have not passed judegement and condemned a food to "good" or "bad". Have you tried something 15 times? Have you had it prepared in many different ways with a variety of different seasonings and sauces? Nothing is better than a positive happy association with a particular meal. Enjoying good food together with people that you love can and should fill you with nutrient dense food and wonderful memories. I hope you enjoy the episode. We would love a 5 star rating on Itunes.
